The Institute of Volunteering Research has developed a toolkit to help organisations measure and assess the impact of their involvement of volunteers.
The following provides advice for organisations thinking about building a web site. There is a glossary of terms at the end of the document.

Volunteer role descriptions are essential for volunteer recruitment and ongoing management.
Writing an advert that will attract people to volunteer for you can be quite difficult. You need to provide enough information to interest people but keep it short enough to keep their attention.
The management committee members of a voluntary and community group (not registered as a charity) are responsible for setting up and maintaining their organisation.
The main responsibility of the trustees of a charity is to make sure that their organisation is run properly; works within the rules stated in its governing document and does not break the
