Good Governance

Good governance is the backbone to the success of an organisation. If your organisation serves Newcastle and / or Gateshead you can receive free advice around different aspects of governance from our Support and Development team. We may then recommend a full Governance Review in order to help you run your organisation as effectively as possible.

Governance Review

Connected Voice is now offering a comprehensive Governance Review service to ensure your trustees or directors understand their roles, have the appropriate skills and abilities and are delivering on your organisation's purpose. The Governance Review will provide you with an objective assessment of your governance and enable it to progress confidently to best meet the needs of your organisation.

We use seven key principles, which are at the core of good governance, to structure the review’s conclusions and recommendations:

  1. Organisational Purpose
  2. Leadership
  3. Integrity
  4. Decision Making, Risk and Control
  5. Board Effectiveness
  6. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
  7. Openness and Accountability

We engaged Connected Voice to carry out a governance review for us. We were confident that we already had quite sound governance but knew there were some areas where we could improve. Sara and Giovanni were really helpful and thorough. They met with each of us and came to one of our board meetings before producing a really detailed report that gave us lots of things to improve. We have now formed a subgroup to work through the recommendations of the report. We look forward to developing our governance until we reflect best practice in all areas!
