The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.
For over 30 years, the Angelou Centre has stood with Black and racialised women and children. We are a Black-led organisation based in Newcastle, specialising in support for those at risk of or affected by domestic abuse and other forms of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).
We provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive services that help women, children and young people recover from violence, abuse and discrimination - rebuilding safety, confidence and independence.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Nature Connection Officer to join our Communities and Nature team.
The Officer will lead on the coordination and development of nature-based opportunities for young people aged 16–24. The role supports young people at a key life stage to connect with nature, improve wellbeing, build confidence and skills, and feel part of the environmental movement.
Employment type: Part/full-time (negotiable)
Hours: 22.2 – 37 hours per week
Salary: £27,869 (pro rata if part-time)
Contract Term: 12-month fixed term contract
Reporting to: Chief Executive
Role Description
Hours: Fixed Term Contract 12 months (extension may be possible only if funding permitting) - 37.5 hours per week. Job share considered
Salary: £28,000
Holiday: 25 days per annum plus Bank Holidays
