This event is for Volunteer Coordinators and Managers in both Newcastle and Gateshead.

Every year, VCSE organisations across the UK come together to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution volunteers make to their services and their wider communities.

Are you Volunteers’ Week ready?

Volunteers’ Week 2026 will take place from 1–7 June.

Connected Voice’s Volunteering service area is here to support you in preparing early and making the most of this important week of celebration.
By bringing together volunteer coordinators from both Newcastle and Gateshead, this session offers a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, share resources, and gather fresh ideas for recognising and appreciating volunteers.

What to Expect

- An introduction of Volunteers Week by project comms lead Nicola Gower.
- Perks for Volunteers: An overview of opportunities and offers available to help highlight the contribution of your volunteers.
- Introduction to Canva: Practical guidance on creating engaging celebratory materials for Volunteers’ Week.
- Video Production Tips: How to produce short, impactful content to showcase volunteer appreciation on social media.
- Event Planning Guide: An essential checklist to keep you on track.
- Networking: Space to build connections, exchange experiences, and strengthen peer support across the region.

This event will take place in person at One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 4BX

There will be tickets reserved for professionals from both Newcastle and Gateshead networks to attend. 

Connected Voice is committed to reducing our environmental impact and want to champion environmental sustainability to all organisations in the VCSE sector.

To reduce the carbon footprint of our events, we would like to politely request that all attendees make the best effort, where viable, to travel to our events in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

  • The venue has secure bike storage and free to use shower facilities
  • The venue is within 60 seconds from St James Metro Station
  • The venue is less than a 15 minute walk from Central Station
  • The venue is close to 22, 351, 354, 40 and X1 bus links
  • Many city centre bus links are within 10 minutes from the venue
     

Through Connected Voice Volunteering, we help organisations across Newcastle and Gateshead with all things volunteering. Get in touch if you'd like a chat about best practices; your volunteering polices, processes, recruitment, induction etc. 

We can promote volunteering roles for free on OurGateshead. We also have support into volunteering pathways in both Newcastle and Gateshead. 

You can only book one place for yourself. If a colleague wants to attend, they will need to book separately themselves. When you book, please ensure that you give us all the essential information requested so that we know your registration is genuine.

Our training and events are funded from a variety of sources, allowing us to offer them for free to eligible organisations. Please check the eligibility requirements for each session before signing up.

Attendance and value Our staff dedicate significant time and resources to create and deliver an excellent range of training and events free of charge. We ask that you make an effort to prioritise attending our training once you have registered, and let us know as soon as possible if there is a barrier to you attending.
