Response to the Gateshead Council Budget Consultation

On 30 January we held a budget consultation for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. It was attended by the Leader of the Council, Martin Gannon, and the Chief Executive, Sheena Ramsey. You can read the notes from the session below.

Connected Voice has now responded formally to the budget proposals and you can read our Chief Executive, Lisa Goodwin's letter in full below. The key points we wanted to make to the Council were about the importance of inflationary uplifts to grants and contracts with VCSE organisations, and the fact that the cost saving proposals in some areas, including supported accommodation, would end up costing more money in the longer term.
