Ramadan 'Safe Fasting' Calendars 2022

This year, Ramadan takes place between 2 April and 1 May and we're delighted to be able to provide our printed Ramadan calendars once more.

As part of Ramadan, Muslims will be following a month long fast which will mean they will not be eating food, drinking liquids or smoking from dawn to sunset. Anyone with serious health issues, frail, pregnant or on daily medication/ medical treatment is not expected to fast. Alongside the prayer times, these calendars contain safe fasting information and tips on managing diabetes and glaucoma.

Each mosque has a different calendar of prayer times and we have worked with 11 mosques across Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside to produce different timetables for their individual calendars. We have also worked with the NHS Diabetes Centre, Glaucoma UK and Diabetes UK to ensure we share the right health information relating to fasting and managing diabetes and glaucoma.

Our 2022 Haref Ramadan prayer calendars are available online (see below) and once again in print format. We are delivering almost 3,000 printed calendars to the each of mosques and a further 800 generic calendars are ready to share in community-facing buildings.
