Funding Fair brings Together more than 200 Guests to boost Local Charitable Sector
The Connected Voice Funding Fair in Newcastle recently welcomed more than 200 guests, connecting charitable funders to local charities in need of support.
Connected Voice, who have been supporting charitable and voluntary groups in Newcastle and Gateshead for more than 95 years, held their annual Funding Fair this week (17 June), with more than 200 guests in attendance.
Held at Northumbria University Students' Union, this event is a highlight of the local VCSE (Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise) sector, matching up funders with organisations in order to help their dreams and projects become reality.
Funders involved included The Gregg's Foundation, Newcastle Building Society and Community Foundation North East, amongst many more.
Good causes of all kinds from around the region were represented, including The Recovery College (ReCoCo), Birtley Community Pool, and Percy Hedley.
The day also included seminars with funding experts from The National Lottery Community Fund, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Easyfundraising, and Newcastle Building Society.
Chief Executive of Connected Voice, Lisa Goodwin, said: "There is nothing like the buzz in the room at our Funding Fair. It is a little bit like speed dating! Organisations get the chance to chat with so many funders - and the Connected Voice team - to see how they can access support, funding and advice."
