Curious Arts Chairperson

Curious Arts is seeking an experienced, passionate and professional individual who understands and shares the values and mission of our work to become the Chair of our Board of Trustees.

We are looking to recruit this new Chairperson, to join us between May and July 2023. Prior Trustee/ Chair experience or equivalent is desired, however more important is the willingness to utilise your knowledge and experience to support the organisation’s development and resilience.

Key areas of responsibility and expectations of our new Chair:

• Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties and responsibilities. (We estimate on average the role takes the equivalent of 1 day per month, spread across a range of activities. The Chair should be in regular contact with our CEO and contactable in an emergency.)
• Ensure sound governance, including coordinating our regular board meetings
• Chair and attend a range of sub group and strategic meetings outside of quarterly board meetings
• Willingness to attend our events and activities to gain a deep understanding of our work.
• Build an effective working relationship with the CEO. (line management of the CEO including setting annual objectives and performance management, in consultation with the wider board)

Whilst we welcome interest from professionals in all sectors, we would particularly welcome applications with skills or experience in:
• Fundraising
• Financial and legal sectors
• Trustee / governance experience

We would also especially welcome interest from individuals with LGBTQIA+ lived experience.
