VCSE Health and Wellbeing Event - Marmot Principles and Local Neighbourhood Health Plans
Our next VCSE Health and Wellbeing Event will be held at 10:00am at RECOCO on Thursday 21 May. The room will be open from 9:30am for informal networking.
This event is open to all VCSE organisations across Newcastle and Gateshead.
The event provides an opportunity to:
- Learn more about the Marmot Principles and the role of the VCSE sector in this approach
- Receive the latest updates on the Integrated Care Board (ICB) strategic commissioning transition
- Understand how the sector can contribute to shaping local neighbourhood plans
Speakers include:
- Jo Whaley, ICB Involvement Manager – presenting on public involvement and the Community Engagement Library
- Louise Brennan, Public Health Consultant, Newcastle City Council – presenting on the Marmot Principles and the role of the VCSE sector in this approach
- Martin Short (TBC), ICB Newcastle Gateshead Director – presenting on the role of the ICB and the VCSE sector in shaping local neighbourhood plans
We will also share updates from our HAREF and Health Equity services and the WorkWell Programme.
There will be an opportunity for attendees to share updates from their own organisations and connect with like-minded individuals.

There is public bike parking at Newcastle City Library
You can only book one place for yourself. If a colleague wants to attend, they will need to book separately themselves. When you book, please ensure that you give us all the essential information requested so that we know your registration is genuine.
Our training and events are funded from a variety of sources, allowing us to offer them for free to eligible organisations. Please check the eligibility requirements for each session before signing up, as this varies from course to course.
