Newcastle Volunteer Coordinators' and Managers' Network Meeting - Celebrating Volunteers who are in Recovery

The Newcastle Volunteer Coordinators’ Network is for staff and volunteers in the voluntary sector in Newcastle who manage, coordinate or support volunteers as part of their role. 

The network provides a peer-support space where colleagues can learn from each other, share best practice, and work together on volunteering-related initiatives.

Our aims are to:

strengthen and build capacity across the sector

raise the profile and value of volunteering

work collectively to influence local decision makers to prioritise volunteers and volunteerism


We meet in person quarterly for themed sessions chosen by network members. At this meeting we are capitalising on being just at the end of September’s Recovery Month and will be showcasing the learning, best practise and experience from our Newcastle Support into Volunteering Project that has been supporting local residents who are in recovery into volunteering roles across the city. In this space we will also be learning from each other, discussing the impact of and how to combat stigma towards this community and celebrating the achievements of our recovery volunteers.

To reduce the carbon footprint of our events, we would like to politely request that all attendees make the best effort, where viable, to travel to our events in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

• The venue is close to all city centre bus links
• The venue is a 1 minute walk from St James Metro Station
• The venue is a 15 minute walk from Central Station
• There is secure bike storage for people cycling
   

You can only book one place for yourself. If a colleague wants to attend, they will need to book separately themselves. When you book, please ensure that you give us all the essential information requested so that we know your registration is genuine.

Our training and events are funded from a variety of sources, allowing us to offer them for free to eligible organisations. Please check the eligibility requirements for each session before signing up, as this varies from course to course.

Attendance and value Our staff dedicate significant time and resources to create and deliver an excellent range of training and events free of charge. We ask that you make an effort to prioritise attending once you have registered, and let us know as soon as possible if there is a barrier to you attending.
