WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO
• To plan and deliver varied and engaging sessions in schools and communities
that will meet the needs of the local community, including school holidays,
evening and weekend delivery.
• Create an inclusive environment through planning sport sessions that enhances
self-esteem and confidence, whilst keeping it free from bullying or disrespect for
others.
• Delivery of sports sessions that focus on character building, teamwork and
leadership skills for people from undeserved communities.
• Promote physical well-being by delivering and developing sports sessions with
targeted outcomes within local communities.
• Establish partnerships with schools, local authorities, statutory and non
statutory services and other non for profit organisations.
• To carry out all monitoring and evaluation required.
• Travel to key settings within Newcastle and wider to meet the needs of the
charity
• At all times ensure the charities compliance with GDPR, data protection
legislation and organisational safeguarding and equality policy.
• To be committed to continuous professional development and undertake any
training or qualification to support personal and service performance.
• To ensure that all programmes are delivered in a safe and ethical manner as
required by Centre-West’s guidelines.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL... THE ESSENTIALS
THE KNOWLEDGE
• Good understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by the target
audiences that Hat-Trick is looking to engage children, teenagers and adults
from underserved communities.
• Knowledge of networks and organisations linked to local communities and
have a Full UK Driving License and access to car to travel to local schools and
communities.
• Relevant sports qualifications to enhance your sports delivery at sessions.
Must hold a minimum Level 2 Sports related qualification.
THE EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 3 months experience working in a football/sports/activity setting
• IT literate in particular Microsoft Office
• Good communication skills, written and oral
• Excellent organisation, project and time management skills
• Passion for making a positive difference in communities who may be the
least heard
• Planning and developing engaging activity sessions to a varied audience
• Partnership working
• Experience of community development and community engagement

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and
expect all staff to share this commitment. This position will involve contact with young
and consequently, the post-holder will be obliged to demonstrate and maintain their
suitability to work with young people. This will include a requirement to undertake an
enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.
