The Rothley Trust, a registered charity, gives small grants to groups in the North East of England to help them with their charitable work. The funding is intended to support the needs of children and young people in areas of disadvantage as well as community development and groups who are helping people with disabilities.
Previously, grants between £300 and £5,000 have been awarded. Most grants have been in the range of £500 to £1,500. The next deadline for applications is 9 April 2021 (1pm) for consideration at the 17 May 2021 Trustee meeting. Priority will also be given to local community groups at grass roots level who require support.
Organisations must have a written constitution. Groups should have audited accounts and an annual report. Newly formed groups should have evidence of bank or building society account and names of key people involved.
Grants are generally made for specific projects such as the purchase of equipment or the provision, refurbishment or repair of premises. This can include energy saving devices, IT equipment and website start-up and development costs.
