Welcome to On the Hoof in July 2016, wellbeing, health and social care news for people working in and with the voluntary sector in Newcastle and Gateshead

The CHYP IN forum in June, for organisations working with Children and Young People in Newcastle, heard all about: the new approach to children and young people's mental health services in Newcastle and Gateshead with Expanding Minds, Improving Lives (EMIL); Nightstop North East's under 16s feasibility study; and current NPS issues and resources.

Newcastle Law Centre and partners Changing Lives and Advocacy Centre North have secured a Big Lottery Help Through Crisis Fund grant to provide an Accompany, Advocate and Advise service to families in the most deprived areas of Newcastle who are in positions of extreme hardship and crisis. The Law Centre will lead, providing specialist welfare benefits and debt legal advice with two main partners: Advocacy Centre North providing advocacy services and Changing Lives providing holistic support services. The project will launch in June/July 2016.
