“Newcastle CVS is justifiably proud of the standards of service provided”

Investors in People is a quality standard for people management and a sign of an outperforming place to work. We are delighted to share that we have been re-accredited for Investors in People until 2022.

The assessment involved a desktop analysis, observations and one-to-one interviews with 16 employees from across the organisation. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People Framework, which is organised around nine key indicators of high performance each with three themes.

The Assessor commented:

“Newcastle CVS is justifiably proud of the standards of service provided. This reflects the efforts of the dedicated and highly skilled staff team who work tirelessly to keep up to date and support each other at all times – all valued the ‘family feel’ engendered.”

Feedback from the Assessor included:

  • Reflection and ethos of Newcastle CVS is strongly apparent in all and reflects the high standards of work and support provided, with ‘honesty and integrity’ at the centre of everything.
  • Many levels of good practice were apparent and indicated progress beyond the ‘Developed’ Level of the Standard.
  • Efforts are made to match the skills of the staff members with the needs of the people they are helping or supporting.
  • The Chief Executive has worked tirelessly to establish Newcastle CVS externally and the credibility of the organisation is strong in the sector so that positioning for future sustainability is good.
  • Support for the wellbeing of staff is strong through internal Mental Health First Aiders and line manager support.

Of course, there is always room for improvement and our Staff Council and Ideas Forum will be developing these areas further. Our staff, with their commitment, skill and abilities, are an invaluable resource of the organisation so it’s helpful to have an external evaluation and look at how we can make our organisation an even better place to work.
