Sir Stuart Etherington, Chief Executive of NCVO, will be a guest speaker at Newcastle CVS’ AGM

Newcastle Council for Voluntary Service (Newcastle CVS), which supports voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations in Newcastle and Gateshead, is delighted to have Sir Stuart Etherington, the Chief Executive of NCVO, as a key speaker at its AGM on Monday afternoon, 13 November this year.

NCVO is the national membership organisation that champions the voluntary sector and volunteering. It represents 13,000 charities in England.

Ahead of Trustees Week, Sir Stuart, who has been Chief Executive at NCVO since 1994, will be speaking about the role of trustees and the value of small and local organisations. He will also be taking a question and answer session open to attendees of the AGM.

Sir Stuart Etherington said:

“The North East’s community spirit is legendary and I know just how committed people across the region are to supporting their local charities. I’m really looking forward to meeting so many of those charities and hearing about their work.

“In particular, in national Trustees’ Week, now is a great moment for us all to thank the many people who give up their time to help run the region’s charities.

“Newcastle CVS does amazing work, often behind the scenes and unsung, to make sure those charities always have access to the advice and training they need. They’re the helping hand that Newcastle and Gateshead’s charities look to for support in countless ways. In uncertain times, they’re an invaluable resource for local charities.”

Newcastle CVS will be live streaming Sir Stuart’s speech through Twitter Live, so ensure you’re following @newcastlecvs to tune in. He is due to speak at 2.25pm. Search Newcastle CVS’ hashtags for all the latest on the AGM - #NCVSAGM17 #EnablesBuildsEmpowers.
