This is a rare opportunity to play a significant part in the development of an exciting and unique organisation delivering impactful projects in education, agriculture, enterprise, and advocacy to vulnerable people in a remote part of Western Kenya.

Team Kenya are looking to appoint 3 additional trustees to strengthen our board. We are also looking for someone to join with a view to taking on the role of Vice Chair.

Who we are:

Team Kenya works in partnership with a Kenyan NGO, Twende Pamoja, to empower communities to achieve sustainable development, gender equality and the alleviation of poverty.

Our Vision and Mission:

Our vision is for every girl in Kenya to have an equal chance to achieve her own potential and be free from poverty.

Our mission is to involve entire communities in gender equality, so that girls and women in rural Kenya can create their own bright futures.

This is a particularly challenging but also an exciting time for us as we continue our work to help bring about sustainable and impactful change.

What we are looking for:

The Board of Trustees are responsible for setting the overall strategy of the organisation and for ensuring that we meet our charitable objectives. Our Trustees have oversight of the management and operations of the charity, ensuring we fulfil our contractual obligations and remain fully compliant with current legislation, embedding and exemplifying best practice in all that we do.

Our Trustees are supported by our Charity Chair, and we welcome the innovation, challenge, and experience that a diverse board can bring.

We are actively seeking people who can extend our board’s current expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • International Development
  • Income Generation | Fundraising | Marketing
  • Legal | Risk
  • Governance | Leadership
