NAPI believes the needs of Parents, Carers and Children under 5 are diverse and individual. NAPI will support community groups which provide for these needs and promote their contribution to the social, educational and health aspects of all those involved. NAPI currently supports 100 community based Parent and Toddler Groups in Newcastle by providing advice, information and practical support from a team of workers. A toy library service and an Inclusion team to support children with additional needs are the other 2 key areas of work.

Help us keep adults and children safe in Gateshead Would you like to be a lay member of the Gateshead Safeguarding Adults Board and Safeguarding Children Partnership? Lay members are not expected to be experts in Safeguarding. Our lay members must however be able to demonstrate an interest in community and social issues, preferably with a history of involvement in them. Initially for 12 months, the lay member role would require a commitment of approximately 10 days per year. Although the roles are not paid, travel and training expenses will be paid.
